i think you need to edit a little this photo,,, and i think if you choose smaller f-number for this kinda photo's it could be better

I like the contrast between the earring and the background. There is a bit on the top left which has not been covered by the background. Maybe you could try taking the pic at a slightly different angle.. Ur title reminds me of the song Teardrop by Massive Attack.

You got a nice subject for your photo. Nice photo! Could have tried to increase the DOF slightly to make that green bead also in focus. I hope this might look a little better.
