@Ron: Thank you Ron.. :) @isabel: Thanks so much Isabel... :) but, I guess i ididn't understand you - why safe? Photonscribbles from Pune, Indiai can hear the chan chan... 24 Mar 2008 11:19am @Photonscribbles: thank you .. :) Scott Collins from Ontario, California, United StatesI think the shot is wonderful, I love the two colors together, and I think you have a good eye for photography. If you want more honest criticism than that, you have to let us know what you wanted from the shot, for instance, the human eye tends to pay more attention to areas in a photograph that are in sharp focus, so if you want people to notice a particular part of a photograph more than another, use your depth of field to achieve that goal. You camera was set for an aperture of 2.8 which give a shallow depth of field, and you also took a close up shot, which also decreases your depth of field. That's why only a portion of the photo is in focus, and there is nothing wrong with that, as long as that's what you intended to have happen. So here's the hard part about giving a critique: since I don't know how much you know about photography and what you were intending to convey in your shot, I can't say if you hit the mark or not, but personally I think the shot was well executed. 24 Mar 2008 12:56pm @Scott Collins: First of all, Scott, thank you so much. You took the time to let me know what all you thought, and that was really sweet. Thank you. As far as what you said, I really have no techincal knowledge of photography. Nothing. I just capture whatever appeals to my eye. I don't care ( I don't know!! :P ) whether something is off focused or "depth of field" or stuff. I wish I knew all this, but am lazy to learn. Thanks again.. :) for coming and for appreciating my work.. :) Ricky from Edmonton, CanadaYes, an anklet that sounds at all the right moments... 24 Mar 2008 4:09pm @Ricky: aww thanks :) Stunner from Kingston, JamaicaInteresting shot and anklet. I'm used to seeing only the small ones made of gold or stones here in Jamaica. 24 Mar 2008 4:29pm @Stunner: Thanks Stunner. Hoopand from Tehran, Iranwell it was a good idea to name that a self-portrait! nice! 24 Mar 2008 6:49pm @Hoopand: Thanks :) atleast sumone appreciated it ;) @standley: It's antique bronze.. :) Rags from Plano, United Statesnice image. I would love to see this image from another angle. 24 Mar 2008 11:59pm @Rags: Thank you.. will sure try if I can.. :) @Graça B.: Thank you so much :) ConvexClix from Not on Land, IndiaChan Chan Chan. Beautiful picture like the name. The light on the left portion of the picture is considerably more and the color looks very different. You could have reddened the background more. But as someone said this looks really exotic. Where did you get this click? Garden again? 25 Mar 2008 2:35am @ConvexClix: hmm, you are right, but it seemed too artificial if i tampered with the background so I didn't. :) and yes, again.. it was on display in my college.. @angel: thanks angel :) Michael Skorulski from Cigel, SlovakiaCool image but I'm saddened not to see the real person. 25 Mar 2008 7:55am @Michael Skorulski: thank yu..n umm when i am good enough with the camera to click myself , will do that too :) @MJ: thank you :) @mosleh: Thank you :) Nishana Minhaz from Calicut, Indianice idea for a self-portrait! gives me ideas, cos nishana is also a hindi word.. :) 25 Mar 2008 2:52pm @Nishana Minhaz: thank you.. :) what does Nishana mean? @Camiller: thank you :) Satrajit from Delhi, IndiaThe fact that your name is payal makes the pic even more appealing.....its like a selp potrait...good 26 Mar 2008 4:31am @Satrajit: thank you :) Sangram from Mumbai, Indiathats ghungroo i guess... does that self portrait show ur love to music & dance or it is an portryal of the kind of person u r? abt the pic i guess the angle could have been little better 26 Mar 2008 5:42am @Sangram: it is an antique payal..and that's my name too.. that's y a self-portrait :) Garibaldi from Sala al Barro, ItalyNothing to add to the other comments than BEAUTIFUL! The logng comment of Scott is really interesting, great self-portrait =D 28 Mar 2008 1:02pm @Garibaldi: thank you soooo much! :) Angshuman from New Delhi, IndiaYou have a good eye. The colours are good & the colour contrasts stand out. But if I have to be honest I am not sure whether I am finding a reference here...yes it's your anklet, but against what...I guess a bit wider view might have helped. Second is the shallow DOF, a bit more could have been better to have the full area in the picture in focus, unless you wanted it this way. But all said, you have a good photographic eye & god creative juices...keep them flowing! 1 Apr 2008 1:44pm @Angshuman: First of all, thank you so much! :) your comment was really very informative..and you have pointed out all those ares which definately need some improvement..thanks again.. I believe DOF is depth of focus..and focus is sth i am still kinda learning..so till i do that.. :P thanks again..for dropping by, and for these wonderful words.. |
